Change in agreement with region Sörmland

It has come to our attention via the media that the Sörmland region has chosen to withdraw the approval of minnesmottagningen.se as a healthcare provider.

We question several of the points raised, and would of course initially have preferred this information to be provided to us directly rather than via media channels.

We have tried to reach the region but so far without success. We will continue to actively try to reach the region in order to get a better understanding of the decision and also to be able to see where any misunderstandings or questions lie, as we believe that several points raised by the region are wrong in fact and must come from misunderstandings.

Our approach has always been and will continue to be to want to have a constructive and open dialog with the region, as we have seen that this model of care makes dementia care available in an equal way for an ever-growing and vulnerable patient group, enables rapid assessment and management by specialists regardless of where in the country you are, and conducts research to further develop the future of dementia care.

In the coming days, we will focus on exploring the underlying causes, scope and management of the issue, as well as its effects in both the short and long term. We will continue to seek the region for a dialog.

Update

The region has not wanted to have a direct dialog in the matter, but has announced that it chooses to end the collaboration with Minnesmottagningen.se at the same time as the region is also in the process of ending other collaborations in other areas of care.

We at Minnesmottagningen.se see this as very regrettable, as it makes it more difficult for patients in Sweden to access a fast, effective and specialized assessment of their cognitive ability. Withdrawing agreements risks creating systems that are only available to those who can afford to pay.

We will be engaging with other regions on this going forward, with the hope that the importance of this function in society will be widely recognized and will once again open up the possibility for patients to receive this help regardless of their financial situation.
