Join us for our lunchtime webinar on 19 February, which will take a closer look at the challenges you may face as an older person or with cognitive difficulties in a world that is becoming more digitalized by the day.
We welcome our speakers Charlotta Ryd, Sarah Wallcook and Elin Jakobsson, researchers and investigators at the Elderly Center Foundation.
All have previously worked as occupational therapists at the Cognitive Clinic at Karolinska Hospital in Stockholm, and their 2017 thesis focused on how the increased use of technology affects the everyday lives of older people.
The lecture will focus on living and ageing in a technology-rich and digitalized society for people with and without cognitive impairment or disease. We will also look at the challenges that health and care services face when we meet people who have limitations when using technology, for example when it comes to so-called eHealth.
The lecture will largely be based on research conducted within the CACTUS research group at Karolinska Institutet. The research group has for many years conducted research on the theme - Living and aging with cognitive impairment in today's technological landscape in homes and public environments. Two instruments designed to map a person's ability to use technology in everyday life have been developed and these will be introduced during the lecture.
